Hot Out the Oven: Tinie Tempah ft. Ellie Goulding-Wonderman

Download: Wonderman

Start the week with a gem from across the Atlantic. Caught this over at GMAD and immediately sniped it. Tinie Tempah and Ellie Goulding are huge over in the UK and this is a pretty dope collaboration. Spin the track.

Its Friday, Get Your Freak On with some Macklemore.

Recorded an interview with this guy and his producer and quite simply…they know how to keep it real. Macklemore was the opening act for Seattle sensation Blue Scholars at the concert I went to last week. His performance was way tooo wild  (he went all out on this song) and he straight-up stole the show. This song is pretty much a joke and is meant for laughs. I’ll throw it up for you trying to jamm though cuz the beat is bumpin’. Spin the track!

Sorry for the slow week…

I’ve been swamped with work for the past week and in my spare time I murdered a season of the Showtime series The Tudors. The first season is extremely entertaining and I highly recommend it for anyone into European history… or  medieval sex scenes (my roommates). As for music, I went to a concert last week featuring Macklemore, Blue Scholars, and today’s post Outasight. Outasight just signed with Warner Bros and I managed to chat with him after his performance at Paradise in Boston. His music matches his personality 100%. I’m not sure the best way to describe his music…a lot of singing, pop beats, and some white-boy rap flow. Surprisingly dope tho. Spin the track!

Here is a playlist with a few tracks off his mixtape:

This song came out about a year ago and is the only song I had from Outasight prior to going to his show last week. Big fan of the beat, Asher Roth drops a verse as well…its a gem.

No Chiddy, Just BANG.

Good music is usually a blend of good lyrics/word play that compliment a good beat/melody (or vice-versa depending who you talk to). If you’ve been visiting The Bakery for awhile, you probably find just as much amusement as I do when I listen to the radio and I hear Chiddy Bang and/or Mike Posner. I’m sure most of you have heard of Chiddy Bang and to my surprise, a lot people think that it’s the name of a single rapper. Chiddy Bang is actually a duo which consists of rapper Chidera and producer [DJ] Xaphoon Jones. Xaph is the mastermind behind all the beats to Chiddy Bang’s songs (The white guy you always see but never hear rapping). Chiddy Bang’s remix of “Kids” is an example of the genius of Xaphoon Jones. He samples MGMT’s mega-hit “Kids,” and creates the catchy electro-pop beat that we all love. As sick as Chiddy (the rapper) is, he probably would be just another blog superstar without the unique sound that Xaphoon adds to Chiddy Bang. In summary…Chidera + Xaphoon Jones= Chiddy + Bang.

Xaphoon Jones has done some solo work as well and its” pretty much amazing.” He is a mash-up artist and has a few remixes that are well worth a listen. Just think of Chiddy Bang…without Chiddy on the track. Check out his entire mixtape Xaphoon Jones Volume One . I’m not crazy about mash-ups but these are some gems. Spin the Track!

Kid Cudi coming to BC!

Kid Cudi will be rocking Boston College’s Conte Forum this Saturday, along with LMFAO and local dj COASTCONNECT. I’ve heard Cudi isn’t the best live performer, but honestly I don’t give a f@*k, its gonna be a G.O.O.D. ass time. I’m waiting for Cudi’s sophomore album [Man On The Moon 2: Legend of Mr. Rager] to drop so it can be the soundtrack to everyone’s school year once again. Here are some Cudi tracks, new and old, that I’m hoping he performs this Saturday. If you stood in that crazy line for tickets…you better know all theses. Spin the track!

This is a playlist so just let it run for a bit…enjoy.

Here is a CDQ version of Kanye’s VMA performance. The chorus gets you, but overall the song is aight…

Download: Runaway ft. Pusha-T (Of Clipse) [CD Quality]

Kanye’s latest G.O.O.D. Friday release, titled G.O.O.D. Friday, is a must have. The song features pretty much all of the artists on Kanye’s music label and has a classic Kanye beat to it. Cudi on the hook, Uncle Charlie in the background, and some bars from Common, Pusha, Big Sean, and The Don Yeezy himself. Spin the Track!

Kid Again

Shout out to my boy Doug who turned 20 yesterday! I recently celebrated my birthday and the more I think about it…getting older has its pros and cons. I won’t make you read my personal philosophy and bs, just give this track a listen. This song officially dropped a couple days ago but I’m lucky enough to know the producer (I.L.O Productions) and he gave me an unfinished version of the track, earlier this summer, which I constantly blasted. If you’ve been following for awhile and/or go to BC…I.L.O productions is no stranger to this site. He collaborated with the new talent, Tayyib Ali, on Tayyib’s premier single off of his upcoming mixtape Eighteen. Check both these guys out and if you like what you hear…spread the music and Spin the track!
